25/07/2008 - Psycho congratulates young leaders
England and Nottingham Forest legend Stuart Pearce has visited Nottingham Trent University during the Football Association's Young Leadership Camp 2008.
The England Under-21 football manager (pictured) arrived back in the city during the event held at the university's Clifton campus.
The Young Leadership Camp aims to educate youngsters on all areas of football including coaching, refereeing, football science and safeguarding children.
More than 100 16 to 18-year-olds attended the week-long camp, selected via regional events organised by the county football associations.
Known as Psycho during his playing heyday, Pearce spoke at the camp closing ceremony last Friday and congratulated the young leaders on a very successful week for all involved.
Four of the attendees will now be given the chance to travel to South Africa for the FA's International Placement Programme to help support and run coaching sessions for children. Director of Sport and Lifestyle at Nottingham Trent University, James Hayter, said: "It was a fantastic experience for the young leaders and a real honour for us to host the camp at Nottingham."
