23/07/2008 - Forest ladies move to carlton ground
Newly-promoted Nottingham Forest Ladies will have a new ground next season as they prepare for life in the FA National Premier Division.
The club has agreed a deal to play at Carlton Town, who play in UniBond Division One South.
Carlton have made significant developments to the pitch and ground facilities over the past few years and the stadium meets ground grading requirements.
Forest Ladies chairperson PJ Andrews said: "Carlton have been enthusiastic and the whole club has a great feel to it. Their chairman, Mick Garton, is a huge Forest fan and has been thoroughly accommodating even though we understand his priority is with Carlton."
But Andrews was also quick to praise Dunkirk FC, where Forest have played in recent seasons.
"I would like to thank Dunkirk who have hosted Forest Ladies for the past three years. We know they understand the reasons for us having to move on."
Carlton chairman Garton said: "We have had several meetings with Forest Ladies and are delighted with the opportunity to work with them."
Forest Ladies' centre of excellence are looking for players for their under-ten team and are holding a trial on Saturday (9-11am) at Southglade Leisure Centre, Bestwood. If you are interested, contact Steve Pritchard on 07967 480 927 or
