25/07/2008 - Forest director - 'a dear friend' - dies

Nottingham Forest director Bob Fairhall has died following a long illness.

He was 75.

The club's Academy director, he joined the board in 1992.

Fairhall (pictured) had fought cancer for a year. He played for Cheshire County Cricket Club, where he was chairman for the past 13 years and also played for Mansfield Town.

Forest chief executive Mark Arthur said: "We have lost a very dear friend and colleague."
